Membership Information
We are always open to welcoming new members, and our membership requirements are very simple. All we ask is that you have a current AMA membership (see/click link below), an enjoyment of the hobby, and a willingness to be supportive of others and fly safely. (*AMA Membership is required to fly at HMAC.)
Why Should I Join the Harnett Mini Aero Club?
Our club has been around for many years, and we hope it will continue for countless more. We are a group of individuals who love the hobby and enjoy coming together just to hang out, fellowship, and fly. Becoming a club member helps the club to grow as a whole, provides access to a great field, fellowship with others who love the hobby, training and assistance with your aircraft, and even flight training if needed from our more experienced pilots. We get together to support the club, the members, and the hobby as a whole, and want to see all of them continue to grow and thrive.
How much does it cost?
Annual membership dues are $100 per person. To add an additional (immediate) family member is only $25. Membership dues for children ages 17 and under (proof of age required) are currently free. Membership dues for active/enrolled FULL TIME college students (12+ credit hours) are currently free (proof of enrollment & Student ID required). Dues are also pro-rated for NEW members, so if you join part-way through the year, they are $8.34 per month for primary members and $2.08 per month for additional family members for the remainder of the year (Paid in one sum-NOT on a monthly basis- {i.e. Mar-Dec=10 months x $8.34=$83.40}. ALL DUES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. These dues help to cover such expenses as club registration, field rental, field maintenance and servicing of the bathroom facilities. Further support goes towards any improvements to the field and/or emergency maintenance.
How do I join?
To join the club, simply stop by the field and talk to any of the officers listed in the club's officers page. Weekends, particularly Sunday's are the best times. We look forward to meeting you!
